GOIN' TO THE CORNER Rev. W. H. Dyer arrived in Alberton in the summer of 1859 and founded the sec¬ ond Church of England par¬ ish westofStEleanor's.His early services were con¬ ducted from the school and later the Temperance Hall at Cascumpec ( Alberton to¬ day). He travelled through¬ out Lots 1-7 visiting the homes of resi¬ dents, and was a truly ecu¬ menical pastor. His minis¬ try lasted until 1886 when he was in his eightieth year. Elizabeth (Bartlett) Dyer, wife of Rev. W. H. Dyer , was a staunch supporter of her husband and the congre¬ gation, and continued to be an active member of the church after his death. The second St. Peter 's Anglican Church was constructed within the town of in 1891, a few years after her husband's death. Mrs. Dyer laid the cornerstone, shortly before her own death.
