A History of Elmsdale , Elrasdale West, and Brockton , Prince Edward Island sary, Mr. Wallace 's daughter, Roberta (Wallace) Stewart of Rosebank officially opened the Exhibition. Mr. Anslem D. O 'Brien of Elmsdale , first president of the Exhibition Association, held office for 23 years (1926-1949). Mr. O' Brien was a quiet but strong promoter for the betterment of the farming area in which he lived. Many of the men associated with him were motivated by a similar intent. The interest shown by these gentlemen resulted in an annual event, which still draws many to participate and enjoy the festivities. The response was overwhelming with over twenty members join- ling the first year. The dairy project was the biggest component of the club followed jby sewing and tractors. Members came from Montrose , Alma, Union , St. Lawrence land Elmsdale . Meetings were held at the Elmsdale Community Center. The first 95
