FARANA CLEANING PLANT
The Farana Grain Cleaning Plant was located at Piusville and was operated by Peter F. Gallant. He placed the following ad in the Agriculturist March 5, 1945:
Farmers: Take notice that the Farana Cleaning Plant of PiuSville will begin operating the first week of March, four days weekly, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday andgFriday and will continue until April 30,

DAFFIN FEED MOBILE In 1963 Wendell Weeks of Alberton, purchased his first portable grist mill, which took him to the farms to crush and mix grain with other ingredients for livestock feed. Wendell went on to buy four of these mobile mills. Most of the time he had three of them travelling from farm to farm. _
The cost of crushing and mixing at that time was $7.00 per ton for cattle feed and
$8.00 per ton for pig feed. When Wendell sold his business in 1980 the prices had flscn to $13.00 and $114.00 per ton. This was a great convenience for farmers as grist mills were not as coMon as in the early part of the century. Wendell ran the busi-
