Wallace entertained the members of "The Listening Group." After listening to the Farm Forum broadcast, the members joined in various discussions re co-operatives. The main topic being the erection of a potato house. These very fine social evenings have been held every Monday evening this winter at the following homes: W.B. McLellan 's, George Murray 's, Gordon Barbour 's, Wallace Donald's, and John P. Wallace 's. The next meeting is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Donald . September 1949 - J.D. Johnston set up a power cleaning plant on his premises for cleaning grain. He was encouraging farmers to bring in their product. September 2,1949 - Cucumber crop smaller than usual, grain crop average. Journal March 30,1951 - John Adams is finished of his ice harvest. He cut his own ice as well as for others within a six mile radius from MacAusland's in Bloomfield . Elmer and Ivan helped as well as his brother Charles and son Everett. Journal November 1952 - The farmers in this locality are busily engaged in grading the portion of their potato crop stored in outbuildings. Many bushels of potatoes were harvested in Brockton and vicinity and it is gratifying to know the price per bushel promises a good return for the year's work. March, 1953 - Lester and Heber Profit and Mr. MacLean Home are having their herds inspected by A.T. Chaisson , Malpeque , ROP milk inspector. April 1953 - James Johnston attended an egg-candling course. 143
