May 1953 — John Adams bought a two—row potato planter and a fertilizer sower which should alleviate the work of planting potatoes.
February 8, 1962: Junior Farmers Re-organize in Elmsdale - Elmsdale and District Junior Farmers met at Weldon Rennie’s to re-organize. President Weldon Rennie, Vice President Robert McAssey, Secretary-Treasurer Mrs. Dale McKenna. Graeme Linkletter helped map out a study program for the next four months and at the end of that time an examination will be given. It was ”decided to’ hold a short entertainment period after each meeting. Meetings are to be held on the 1St and 3rd Thursday of each month at 8:00 pm. Next meeting at Weldon’s. Lunch followed.

This was the second year the competition was held and this year the winning entry was owned by Willie Dunbar of Alma, a large sound Salers—Sementol Cross senior heifer. . .A total of eighteen calves were entered in this year’s show. ..
