In December 1975 the deed for the property Was ready. The school cost $1.00 and the legal fees for writing the deed amounted to $64.00.

In 1976 the original nine members of the Community Club became directors of the building. They were: Marie Griffin,

Roberta Wallace, Norma McLellan, Rita Dunn, Evelyn MacWilliam, Georgie Wallace, Helen Wallace, Noreen Jeffery and Aileen Barnett. These ladies had the final 'say in any major decisions pertaining to the hall. Much work was done on the building. A partition was removed (as it had been a two room school), bathrooms were constructed, kitchen facilities were installed, ceil- . ings were lowered and new lighting was ordered. All of these projects and many other improvements weremade possible throughgovemment grants, to make it the busy place that it has become today. There have been wedding showers and recep- tions, benefits, dances, variety concerts, Canada Works Upgrading Programs, card parties, and suppers, to name but a few of the many activities. In 2005 the Elmsdale

Community Centre is rented for $40.00 a night.
