The porch was taken off and the choir loft, entry and tower were built on. Wages at that time were $12.00 a week for carpenters and $9.00 a week for helpers. The carpenter in charge was George Adams of Elmsdale . While renovations were underway, the regular services were held at the Orange Hall Inext d°or. In July 1940 Mr. and Mrs. Arthur L. Rennie presented a new bell to the J church in memory of their daughter Lulu Mildred who died July 2,1914. Rev. W.A. I atterson dedicated it. People known to have been bell-ringers were: David Williams , George Williams and presently Lea Stewart. 157
