Jardine passed away on June 15, 1998 at Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. His funeral service was held at First United Church, Trenton, Pictou County, NS with
burial in Hillside Cemetery.
1966-1971 Rev. M. Ronald Pocklington received his early education in Hamilton, Ontario and then studied at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario to obtain his Bachelor of Arts Degree. Later, he received a Master of Divinity Degree from Emmanuel College, Toronto, Ontario. Rev. Pocklington was ordained in 1962 by the Hamilton Ontario Conference. His first charge was Central Kings in Georgetown, PEI from 1962 to 1966. He married the former Roberta Shaw in 1966 and shortly afterwards was appointed to the Montrose Pastoral Charge. They had two daughters Charlotte and Rosemary, born while they were living in Elmsdale. In 1969 the Montrose Pas- toral Charge and the Alberton Pastoral Charge were joined to form the Alberton- Elmsdale Pastoral Charge. After 1971 Rev. Pocklington served the Central Avenue Pas- toral Charge 1n Fort Erie, Ontario before being given an appointment with the Pres- ’ byterian Church of New Zealand on an ex- change of ministry with a New Zealand min- ister. Rev. Pocklington at the present time is retired supply minister at Westminister Charge in St. Catherines, Ontario.
United Church Organists - Early organ- ists were Jean Williams, now Mrs. James
Wallace 1936 to 1939, Mrs. John Cameron (Hazel Weeks), and Mrs. Kenneth Crockett (Blanche Rennie). Mrs. Hazel Cameron was pianist and Mrs. Blanche CrOckett was or- ganist until ill health forced Hazel to retire. Mrs. Craig Oliver (Kelly Dawn Williams)
has been the organist since 1998.
