help with the maintenance of the manse and church. On August 12, 1949 the ladies held an ice cream and cake sale on the, church grounds. A goodly sum was realized. Plans were made to buy a carpet for the church. On November 19th they held a pantry sale and bazaar at J .D. Johnston’s store. In 1950 a box of clothing and school sup— plies were sent for relief overseas. Paint and curtains were bought for the manse in 1952. Floor covering was bought in 1953. A travelling apron was a way of raising funds. The person who sewed on the neatest patch with money inside received a prize. Alton Hardy won the prize two years in a row. In 1954 a turkey supper was held. A washer and icebox were bought for the manse. In 1955 there were twenty- eight members. The ladies put on a play with a sale of candy. They voted $50.00
