towards a furnace for the manse. Each year at Christmas, fudge was made for the Sunday School and treats were given to the seniors in the community. At each meet- ing they had contests and sometimes Mrs. Hazel Cameron played music. Other ways of making money were silent auctions, musical auction, grab bag, parcel post sale and a sale of milk containers. Roll call would be answered by the size of both shoes, paying a penny for each letter in their name, and holding a weighing-in party. Dona- tions were given to the Atlantic Christian Training Centre, Pine Hill Bursary Fund, and Mount Allison University. In 1957 a cake and ice cream social at the manse amounted to $75.33 with eighteen gallons of ice cream used. Kitchen curtains were bought. They would get remnants from Eaton’s and Simpson’s and have a quilting party. Then the quilts would be sent for overseas relief. A new rug, wallpaper and floor covering were bought. Joshua Smallman covered an organ stool, the backs of three chairs, and also a chair for the manse. In 1959 window shades were purchased
