1955—1961 Rev. Robert Sampson. He and his wife Maxine worked in expanding the basement for Sunday School. On September 16, 1966 the evangelist Rev. J.W. Turpel now of Minesing, Ontario, returned to preach at Elmsdale where he had been the first pastor. He assisted Rev. Robert Sampson in an open-air evangelistic service at Cascumpec Bridge at 2:30 pm. Sunday afternoon. Their daughter Sandra married Eric Hardy, son of Leslie and Dorothy Hardy of Elmsdale.

1961-1964 Rev. Hartley Earl Mullen. In her book, called I Believe. . . in the Communion of Saints, Vesta Mullen compiled information on the ordained ministers of the Reformed Baptist Alliance of Canada (presently the At— lantic District of the Wesleyan Church), she revealed that Rev. H.E. Mullen (September 12, 1897-September 18, 1971) was born in Havelock, NB. In 1919 he attended Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Mass. While in the Boston area he trained as a baker and en— joyed this pastime all his. life. He also liked to cook, hunt, fish and garden. Rev. Mullen first ministered at the Reformed Baptist Alli- ance at North Head, Grand Manan Island, NB from 1921 to 1923. While there he married his first wife, Stella Lee Lane, a schoolteacher from New Tusket, NSv. He and Stella had four children, Verdie, Phyllis Lila, John Wesley
