Catherine Mary O’Brien was born October 10, 1888, the daughter of Michael and Johanna (Donahue) O’Brien, Elmsdale. Catherine entered the Congregation of Sis- ters of St. Joseph, St. Paul, MN, USA on September 1, 1911, and took the name Sr. Mary Herbert at her final vows in 1918. Sr. Herbert worked in the Refractory in Several locations throughout Minnesota. Sr. Mary Herbert died June 10, 1957 while on retreat at the-College of St. Catherine, St. Paul, MN, and is buried at Resurrection Cemetery, St. Paul, Minnesota.

Gertrude E. “Gertie” O’Brien was born March 24, 1893, the daughter of Michael and JOhanna (Donahue) O’Brien. She attended O’Brien Road School for her early 6dllCation.
