one of her family come to see her so far away. She was quite active right up to the end. Sr. Bertille died at Bethany Convent February 19, 1971 at the age of 95. She is buried in Resurrection Cemetery, St. Paul, Minnesota.

John Louis “Johnnie” O’Brien was born July 10, 1884 on Dock Road, Elmsdale, the son of Michael and Johanna (Donahue) O’Brien. Johnnie received his early edu- cation in O’Brien Road School. Johnnie entered the Dominican Novitiate of the Dominican Friars in Washington, DC on April 14, 1924 and became Brother Mary Michael OP. Brother worked in the furnace area at the priory where he was respon— sible for rising early to light the furnace and shove] coal into it to have the house Warm before the community arose. The last visit Brother Mary Michael made to his 1101116 on the Dock Road was in 1935 when he was stationed in Ohio. He died at age

fifty-four of an appendectomy in Denver on June 14, 1938 and is buried on Ward Road, Denver, Colorado. _
