Barrytown in 1952 where he died the follow- ing year on February 17th. He was buried at Barrytown. When the Barrytown property
was sold his remains were moved to Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthrone, NY.

Garth MacKay was born on September 24, 1960 at Western Hospital, Alberton, the son of Melvin and Shirley (Adams) MacKay and lived in Rosebank for his first four years. The family moved in 1964 to Elmsdale and set- tled in the Josh Smallman house (just north of the United and Nazarene Church Cemeter— ies). Garth attended Elmsdale School, then onto Alberton DistrictRegional High School
in September 1972. He graduated in June 1977 at the age of 16. ' '

At a very young age Garth taught music lessons from the home of his parents in Elmsdale to many students. He was choir and band director of the Nazarene Church 111 Elmsdale and the Baptist Church in Alberton. Garth was always very much in demand to play for weddings and funerals in all churches and was requested for rmeats, as he was a very exuberant piano player. He was a pianist for the Nazarene Church in Elmsdale for many years. From 1977 Garth worked for three years at VariOUS jobs in the area: a community project at the O’Leary Regional Services Centre, Elmsdale Red & White Grocery, and at the Western Hospital. He also worked ' Wlth Mrs. Eileen Oulton in her barn museum, with Fenton Jeffery at the Alberton Museum and was the recreational director at the Maplewood Manor. He then en-
