November 1969 to November 1970 there were no meetings held. In December 1970 meetings began again. Rook parties were held in the school for the winter months. Two electric kettles and a duplicator were bought for the school.

The last Elmsdale WOmen’s Institute meeting was in November 1971. The last presi- dent was Helen Wallace, and secretary Norma McLellan. In 1983 one of the mem- bers of the Elmsdale Women’s Institute, Mrs. James O’Brien was presented a spe- cial citation to honour senior citizens in the area. Vice-President Rita Dunn of the

Elmsdale Community Club made the presentation. In 2005 there were three of the

original members who joined the Institute in 1926: Mrs. Stewart Matthews (nee

Aletha Currie living in Elmsdale), Mrs. Stanton Clark (a resident of Maplewood

Manor in Alberton who is 100 years old), and Mrs. George Kinch (nee Gladys Barnett, also living at Maplewood Manor). The members of the Elmsdale Women’s Institute in 1926 were:
