On June 18, 1942 the Summerside Journal reported: “A variety program presented by the junior pupils of the school on Friday and Saturday evening in Mr. Everett Williams garage netted a neat little sum in aid of the Red Cross.”

Betty (Dunn) McDOnald said the Junior Red Cross was still in existence in the early 19608 when she was go-

ing to school. She said they had lifesaver games, grab

bags, and were given Red Cross pins. Judy (Matthews)
