A History of Elmsdale , West, and Brockton , The sports program at Westisle under the capable hands of athletic director Peter Bolo , has a spectacular track record. The school has fielded winning teams in volĀ¬ leyball, soccer, basketball, golf, badminton and rugby. At various times hockey, field hockey, curling and track and field teams have been available to students and in 2003-2004 boxing and weight training were introduced. The intramural program provides recreation for students during lunch breaks. Each year in September this school participates in the Terry Fox Run to raise money for cancer research. Since the first graduation in 1980 close to 5000 students have graduated from Westisle Composite High School. Twenty-five years later nine of the original teachers and one custodian were still members of the Westisle staff.
