Butchers and Meat Peddlers - A number of people from Elmsdale and area butch- ered animals and peddled the meat using at first horse and wagon and later by truck. The best-known resident butcher was William MacPherson who lived on the Butcher Road on the property now owned by Kathleen Williams. Kenneth Matthews also peddled meat for a few years and then he bought Heber Corbett’s store in Alberton and ran a meat shop.
