Currie Brothers Saturday, June 29, 1946 Winston and George Currie reopened the store of AL. Rennie. It consisted of the former Orange Hall and original Nazarene Church, both of which Mr. Rennie had hauled to the site of his old store. Waldron

RiX was the egg grader and clerk. Unfortunately they were only in business for about a year. The Island Farmer June 24, 1947 stated:

At Elmsdale about midnight Messrs George and Winston Currie met with a heavy loss when fire of undetermined origin destroyed their well-stocked and up-to-date store, which was situated at Elmsdale corner. The fire was first noticed by Earl Currie who lives nearby, and who immediately got word to the owners and neighbors. Before the arrival of the fire departments from Alberton and O’Leary a bucket brigade was formed and for a time kept the fire under control. However neither the main store or warehouse were saved. A few bags of feed were salvaged and the loss was partially covered by

insurance.

This was the end of the store business for AL. Rennie and the Currie Brothers.
