In the Elmsdale Notes of the Summerside Journal April 1946 the correspondent mentions a garage which we believe was being run by Howard Adams, due to the fact that in August 1947 Howard was building a new garage. It was noted to be an up—to—date service station and was located on land he purchased from Lloyd Adams, near the home of Daniel Adams, presently occupied by Thane and Stephanie Arsenault. On June 8, 1948 a fire of unknown origin destroyed the garage. This was a heavy blow as it was a new business that was doing nicely. Cleve Hardy was working for Howard at that time.
