Western Bus Lines — The Island Farmer June 17, 1946 announced:
Notice re new bus service being started in Prince County along the South Shore Route. It will be good news indeed to those residents of Prince County living along the south side of the county to learn that new bus service is about to be inau- gurated between Summerside and TigniSh. Mr. W.L. Williams of Elmsdale put in an application in October last for a franchise to operate this sea- son in conjunction with Mr. Vernon MacFarlane and another. The new company known as West- ern Bus Lines has two buses purchased. Both Mr. Williams and Mr. MacFarlane are eX-servicemen, the former having served four and a half years in the Air Force and Mr. MacFarlane for two and a half years in the Navy. The new service will be a decided boon to many people who live from four to twelve miles from the railway or bus line, includ-
ing those in the West Point area.
