December 1909. It was mutually agreed that if the said William Chipman Currie and Thomas Artemas Matthews at any time wish to sell their property in the Village of Elmsdale then the Prince Alfred Lodge either sell the Orange Men’s Hall to the above owners for the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars of lawful money of Canada or the Prince Alfred Lodge shall buy from the said William Chipman Currie and Thomas Artemas Matthews the whole property consisting of a lot of land and buildings there on.

The Prince Alfred Lodge was named after the fourth child and second son of Queen Victoria who was born August 6, 1844. In 1862 he was elected King of Greece but declined the offer. In 1874 he married Grand Duchess Marie of Russia. He suc- ceeded to the Dukedom of Saxe Coburg of Gotha in 1893. Another deed furthers the

On January 23rd 1918 between John A. Wells of Elmsdale in Prince County Prince Edward Island and his wife Janie of one part and Thomas A. Matthews, Farmer Henry Williams, Farmer and Robert Williams, Farmer all of Elmsdale in Prince County Trustees of Prince Alfred Lodge Number 1288 of Elmsdale aforesaid herein after called the Trustees of the second part.

Whereas the said Lodge desires to take a conveyance of the lands particularly described for the purposes of holding meetings and other business in connection with the said lodge and whereas the
