REMINISCENSES > By Rev. Fred MacMillan When I was a little boy growing up, I enjoyed going to Elmsdale on Saturday nights. We called it “Elmsdale Comer.” When we Were there, we usually gathered on the ' corner where the Western Road met the Dock Road. It was the corner where A.L. Rennie owned and managed a general goods store. A.L. Rennie had about every- thing one would need: hardware, clothing, groceries, trinkets, jewelry, toys, seed,
livestock feed, fuel, etc.
As we mingled at the comer on Saturday night we would usually see the people that made it a fun time. Some of the usuals were: Thane MacNeill, Glen Horne, Bud Hardy, Lois Williams, Leslie Hardy, Ruby Adams, Arnold Hardy, Mabel Hardy, Floyd Hardy, Blanche Adams and Joyce Williams, to mention only a few. Though these people were not always there, it was not unusual to see them there.
