One lady tells of planning to drive her sister who had been vacationing here on the Island, back to her home in Ontario, as this lady’s two sons were to attend Assumption College and live with their aunt. They saved all summer for gas and the neces— sary items for the trip. They started out but never reached their destination by car. When they got as far as the New Brunswick—Quebec border they were forced to put the party bound for Ontario on a train to complete their journey. The reason for this change was due to being unable to purchase car tires any— where. They had patched and re—patched the four tires on the car so often since they left the Island
