Malachine, My aunt Sadiah and Nemir left for Canada with their three and a half month old son Farris on March 31, 1920. Their first stop was France where they were anticipating some money from my grandfather who was in St . Damien Quebec , to finance the trip. When the money did not arrive at the hotel they were staying, they moved on from hotel to hotel until they checked back at the first hotel to find that the money finally did arrive. They reached the port of New York on July 3 and arrived in St . Damien, Quebec on July 5, 1920. They moved to St . Malachie, Quebec where Rita was born on June 15, 1922. Shortly after that, they moved to Charlottetown where the next seven children were born starting with Daniel in 1924.They bought a property on the corner of Bayfield and University Ave. where they lived and operated a small grocery store. 15
