FRANK ZAKEM was born in St. Paul, Quebec on August 1931. I was only four years old when we moved to Charlottetown. My parents held me back from starting school until I was seven years old, likely because of the language difficulty. Even at that, I still had a difficult time in school but somehow I managed to finish High School and went on to University and got degrees in Business, Arts and Education. In 1955, I went to The Grand Seminary in Montreal to study for the Priesthood but soon realized that it was not my calling. I returned home and worked with the family business for several years and in 1970 joined Holland College Community College. I worked there as Principal for twenty

six years.

In 1960 I attended a wedding of Albert and Yvonne Weatherby in Montreal. While in Montreal, I met Janet Kousaie and we were married in 1962 in Montreal. Her mother was

a Zakem from Rashaya.
