I visited my aunt Hassibi on several occasions and have many fond memories of her. For a person who underwent many hardships, I never heard her ever complaining and she was always ready to help others. She came to Charlottetown to help celebrate my parent’s 45th anniversary in1969 and again when Mom died inl973. Hassibi died in 1981 in
Montreal.
Hassibi (Haddad) Zakem Toufic Zakem in King Square, Ch ‘town
Toufic drifted back and forth from Charlottetown to Montreal over the years doing various jobs. He also spent some time in the hospital when his problem got out of control. In the mid seventies and early eighties, he had stopped smoking and drinking and was living in Charlottetown. With all his faults, he did have some good points. He was always well dressed and loved to play the flute. He also loved to feed the pigeons every day at King Square. He loved his coffee. On one occasion he opened a small coffee shop and his slogan was, “If you want good coffee, come and see Toffy”. He died inl984 at the age of
