It had been a long time since my parents saw Agia. So when we went down to Montreal for Albert Weatherby’s wedding, my parent’s decided to pay her a Visit. I went along with them. When Agia realized I was thirty years old and not married, she pointed out the fact that Tom Kousaie had five good- looking daughters that were also not married. My parents knew the Kousaies and had not seen them for some time. We were supposed to leave for Charlottetown the next day but decided to stay a few days more and Visit the Kousaie. That is when I met Janet and we got married a year later. Olga’s brother Wadeh was known as Ed. He worked for a downtown furniture store in Montreal and we bought
our first set of furniture from him.
(3) SAIDEH ZAKEM SAIDEH daughter of Saad had two children, J ameel and Elias.
(2) KIZMA ZAKEM
KIZMA son of Shaheen, was married to Salma Elian and they had six children. In my Dad’s notes he does refer to Kizma as a nephew of my great grandfather Habib Zakem. In 1992 at a Zakem’s reunion I met Rasmyeh Barakat, daughter of Laya Zakem and granddaughter of Kizma. When I asked how we were related, she said that she remembers my grandfather Joseph Zakem visiting her grandfather Kizma Zakem and that
they were first cousins.
