As a teacher at Colonel Gray Senior High School in Charlottetown in 1980, I did not realize that one of the graduating stu- dents in my grade 12 home room class would develop into a driver of standard— l)red horses with over 6,000 wins and almost $51,000,000 in purse earnings.

Accompanying his picture in the year— book, this student chose horses. basel‘all and hockey as interests. His quote for his graduation picture was, "Anyone who isn't pulling his weight is probably push- ing his luck." That student was a very tal- ented Paul MacKenzie.
