The Basilica Recreation Centre - Before and After Holland College Board of Governors, a member of the Board of Directors of the Confederation Centre, former town councillor for the Town of Stratford , and past president of the Chamber of Commerce. In 2007, he was awarded the Patient Care Achievement Award for Health Promotion and the Premier's Award. The parish was prudent in taking its time to ensure that the centre was sold to someone who would be interested in continuing to offer it as a community centre. The citizens of Charlottetown are very fortunate to have community minded people such as Ray and Carolyn Murphy, who were willing to undertake and finance such a worthy endeavour.
