her return from a winter vacation in Florida, that the floors upstairs in 
     
     her home had been replaced with hardwood, a lifelong dream of hers. 
     
     One day in late 2010, Danny called and invited her to accompany him 
     
     to the announcement of a new hotel that he was building in Sydney, 
     
     Nova Scotia. She was delighted with the invitation, even more so when 
     
     the trip to Sydney was on a private plane. She travels frequently to 
     
     Ottawa to visit her two sons and their families, and attended several of 
     
     Shawn’s Christmas parties on Parliament Hill when he was a member of 
     
     parliament. She enjoys traveling, has been to New York several times and 
     
     once went to Las Vegas with Danny. She travels to Florida each year for 
     
     a winter vacation and is joined by various family members, each taking a 
     
     week or so to spend time with their mother. 
     
    
   
   
    
       
     
    
   
   
    
     Family occasions are a big part 
     
     of her life and the tradition of 
     
     getting together on a regular 
     
     basis is kept up. Danny hosts 
     
     Easter festivities. Kevin organizes 
     
     a reunion every summer, 
     
     featuring the fiercely competitive 
     
     Bill Murphy Memorial Golf 
     
     Tournament at the Stanhope 
     
     Golf Club. Michael hosts the 
     
     Thanksgiving celebrations. They 
     
     all go to Shawn’s home for the

     throughout the year for visits. Mary Jane hosts dinners throughout

     In more recent years, as the family becomes more dispersed, they have 
     
     made it a point to maintain regular contact with one another. One such 
     
     event is a family “happy hour” held every siX to eight weeks.
