Kevin had given her a gift certificate for lessons, and she enthusiastically embraced rounds of golf at the Countryview Golf Club in Fairview with old friends like Florence Griffin. They played leisurely rounds, and at the end of the game would sometimes stop to share a beer. A case of carpal tunnel in both wrists about siX years ago ended her golf career. Although she used to get sea—sick on the ferry trip between Borden and Cape Tormentine, she sailed on a catamaran and dove in a submarine during one of her visits with Michael at his home in the Cayman Islands in the early 1990s.
