Henry Davies was home from Ottawa, and he did, in fact, finish with a prize, but his results were not exactly as reported. I suppose the opportunity to get some good press was as important to politicians in 1885 as it is in the Twentieth Century??

The Club's annual meeting was brief. They only took enough time to elect new officers and confirm the new assessment levied on each member at $2.50. The new club officers were Louis Henry Davies, President; Francis Longworth Haszard, Vice President; and re- elected Secretary/Treasurer was Doctor Ernest Blanchard. Prior to adjournment, the Secretary reported the Club was again awaiting a shipment of targets, and was unable to plan another event until they arrived.

Without targets the Club missed a possible competition associated with the Christmas season, which always had the potential to develop into a great social event at some member's home. But, for 1885, they would have to pass it by.
