Abstract

Compilation of local newspaper articles illustrating the Prince Edward Island courts' treatment of young offenders in the latter part of the 19th century. Examples include an 11 year old, given ten days hard labour for "orchard stealing", and "a boy of about fourteen years of age...arrested for searching countrymen's carts with intent to steal...sentenced to one month's imprisonment for vagrancy."
