Description
A lively second compilation (see Georgetown stories, 2000) of newspaper items relating to Georgetown, P.E.I. The journalists captured, and sometimes moralized on, times now past (the wars, disasters, rescues, prohibition, grand public occasions, "pie socials" and the arrival of "talking pictures") and enduring themes (the local weather conditions, farm, sport and "shipping news", and a 1938 message of gratitude from "drought-striken western Canada" for produce sent by local Island farmers).
edited by Nathan H. Mair; [illustrated by R. C. Tuck].
Includes drawings of several local heritage buildings by Canon Robert Tuck.
